My Practice
My approach to Counselling and Therapy is client centred, based on the Existential and Humanistic Principles of choice, autonomy, personal responsibility, freedom and meaning. I integrate human lifespan development theories, to support issues and negative repeated patterns that arise and impact our attachment within relationships. I further facilitate these explorations, using a mindful body approach. These interventions increase awareness and give a greater understanding to the importance of mind, body, soul and spirit connection.
Significantly Counselling and Therapy is a process which brings about positive awareness and change in our lives. I aim to empower each and every client to become their own best expert, as well as the best person they can be. Through this process issues such as anxiety, abuse, addiction, depression, eating disorders, fertility issues, grief, isolation, loss, relationship breakdown, self-harm, stress, suicidal thoughts and trauma, can be explored and worked through within a safe, non-judgemental, confidential and caring environment.
Relationship Counselling
Relationships are often difficult to navigate, depending greatly on our lived life relationship experiences within our family of origin, our early years within our communities and later our experiences throughout our school years. The majority of us spend the majority of our waking moments with somebody. It is therefore not surprising that difficulties arise within our relationships with parents, siblings, partners, spouses, work colleagues, including our children.
Relationship counselling allows and supports you to first become aware of and explore the dynamic of these interactions. Patterns of behaviour which lead to either positive or negative outcomes for the relationship can be considered. This knowledge provides further understanding of your values and beliefs which are similar or different. It is these differences which are frequently not openly or transparently negotiated that lead to stress, distress, unrest and even conflict, within our relationships. Choices can then be made where appropriate or desired to increase our ability to respond rather than react to circumstances. Caring habits are encouraged, so blaming habits are reduced. There are other times where it will be necessary to work towards an amicable leaving or separation. Letting go to move towards a new beginning can take time, commitment, a wish for a life with ease and ongoing success.
Supervision
Supervision allows those working within the fields of Psychotherapy, Counselling, Social work, Social care and Education to reflect on and achieve a greater awareness and understanding of their client’s, service-users or students experiences and processes. It supports you, the supervisee, to grow and develop as practitioners and become more empowered in your work with others. It importantly reduces the risk of compassion fatigue or burnout. This process occurs in a safe, collaborative, supportive, caring, professional and confidential environment.
I use Page and Wosket’s cyclical model, integrated with Hawkins and Shohet’s model of supervision to support my supervisees in their work. I feel these are both enduring and trustworthy, yet flexible models of supervision, which facilitate and support the cross-disciplinary nature of my supervisory practice. These models ensure the needs of the supervisee are centrally focused throughout the session. In addition you, the supervisee, can return to your practice feeling confident and competent in their own knowing and expertise.

Living successfully is an individual and unique experience for everyone. All of us are worthy and deserve to have an abundant life and become the best person we can be at any given moment. This is an ever changing and evolving state, as we move through the milestones and life lessons of our lived lives.
The Successful living and Personal Development workshops aim to ignite and deepen your awareness and connection to your own inner wisdom, knowing and potential. You will build a solid foundation from where you can live a more balanced and abundant life, personally and professionally. They aim to free you from the fear that binds and holds you back from living from your true self.
These workshops afford you an excellent opportunity to participate in an interactive journey of self-discovery using mediums of meditation, group discussion, dialogue, the creative arts, music and movement.
Shamanism
Shamanism is an ancient spiritual practice connecting us to the knowledge and wisdom of nature, the animal kingdom and the spiritual world to support and guide us on our journey through life. Shamanic practices importantly support and nourish our own inner resources, strengthening our ability to intentionally create and live a more meaningful and purposeful life. This practice connects us to the dream world to enable us be the best person we can be, bring balance, harmony and healing to our life and the lives of those within our communities. It importantly allows us reclaim lost parts of our souls and ourselves, lost frequently as a result of trauma within our lived life.
